Economist Peter Schiff is considering a run for the Connecticut Senate seat against Senator Chris Dodd in 2010.  Schiff has gained fame recently because his dire predictions about the U.S. economy were spot on. 

According to The Hill, Senator Dodd is a mere 4 points ahead of Schiff polling at 42%-38%.  Given that Schiff has not officially launched a campaign and does not yet have the name recognition that Chris Dodd enjoys, this is an amazing number.
